# THE BINDER — a history of the winching machinery, with receipts
### The reference binder for the technical whitepaper: hoist · DAG · gunslinger · hidalgo · harpoonv2 · cables · winching · current→target reality winching · anchoring · dissonance basins

**Commissioned:** Architect mid-tic directive, tic 770 (2026-09-04). **Composed:** ent_homeskillet (claude-fable-5), tic 770.
**Method:** two miner citizens (opus) extracted lane-complete evidence under authoritative-source + completeness mandates; the seat composed this master ON TOP of their complete tables, never instead of them. Every claim below traces to a file opened this tic; every timestamp names its source (artifact field vs git metadata).
**Evidence appendices (the row-level mass lives there):**
- `extracts/lane-A-campaign-harpoon-extracts.md` — 1,663 lines: the GUNSLINGER-BACKLOG campaign complete (51 files), the harpoon office complete (161 cable receipts + 68 drain receipts, dated row-for-row), the winch code quoted, publications hits. Complete as of its named instant (5 files landed after enumeration, flagged in its §F.16).
- `extracts/lane-B-hoist-dag-economy-extracts.md` — 681 lines: the hoist covenant + wave history, the economy's gunslinger corpus, the board-compiler arc, the kernel covenant law, anchor economics, the sniper adjudication.

**Citation markers:** every landmark carries a stable `BND-nn` marker. Cite `BND-nn` in the whitepaper and resolve it here; this file resolves onward into the extracts and the primary receipts.

## 0 · The one-paragraph shape (for the whitepaper's own framing)

The machinery is ONE loop wearing many mechanism names: a **covenant** binds a current→target pull; a **strike** (harpoonv2, the six-ray council) produces a thing's shape; **cables** route tension in-and-around a frozen center that is never struck; the **board** compiles admitted covenants into a DAG; the **winch** raises the cables as waves of office-citizen agents at one of two tempos — **GUNSLINGER** (all exec-ready cables at once under a shared DissonanceBasin cradle, RollbackDrill armed) or **HIDALGO** (staged-lock, judged by residue shape, a throttle never a default); **dissonance basins** hold the tension during the raise and drain it as compounding power, never to zero; and **anchoring** (center-exclusion) is the reference frame the whole measurement survives by — enforced as machine checks in three languages, applied even to the money. The record below is that loop's lived history, biggest instances first, honest negatives included.

## 1 · THE HOIST — parts-present-unjoined → closed-governed-loop

| Marker | Landmark | Tic(s) | Real-world time (source) | Why it's the biggest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **BND-01** | **The t494 hoist covenant** — a 10-cable, 7-wave staged-lock DAG assembled by REUSING the existing compiler, GO 5/5 pre-fire, the founding telos held as a NON-NODE (`center_exclusion: GO` is a compiler check, not a slogan) | 494 | 2026-06-27-era (covenant doc; see lane-B §2.1) | scale (10 cables/7 waves/3 parallel invariants) + first-of-kind: the whole current→target pull stated as one sentence and made executable |
| **BND-02** | **t535 — a capability verdict OVERTURNED BY EXECUTION**: the t527 "not-reachable" ruling died when the epoch16 LoRA served live on the M2 Max — 8.31 GiB peak Metal RAM, 280/280 LoRA modules, PEFT→MLX conversion 1.7 s, real inference 88.9 s, gate_passed, mutation_authority=false throughout | 527→535 | 2026-07-01 (S3 cable receipt — which the t748 survey wrongly recorded as non-existent; the receipt EXISTS on disk, found this tic, lane-B §2.4 + finding) | first-live moment + four t527 premises falsified by running the thing; the origin of the standing law "never infer a capability wall from a prior assessment — re-test at the act" |
| **BND-03** | **The corpus chain with reproducing partial sums**: 130,678 → +11,823 → +2,897 → +13,984 = **159,382 T7 traces**, each partial sum reproducing an independently receipted historical total EXACTLY, re-derived at t700 after t650 disclosed the prior figure as cited-not-re-derived | 514→700 | 2026-07-01 → 2026-08-08-era (harvest manifests; lane-B §2.5) | scale + precision + a receipt chain unbroken across ~190 tics |
| **BND-04** | **t749 THE LAP** — "the first time in 221 tics a governed seat CONSUMES a local model": 4,546 tokens through a live 27B on 127.0.0.1:8088, 161 RSS samples at 1 Hz, teardown in-pass, one openable ledger row — followed at t751 by **the REFUSAL and the LAP in the same tic** (the seat refused on an honest floor, the Architect retracted the floor, the lap scored 0.825 [0.680,0.913] vs 0.400 lookup / 0.025 majority baselines, k=2 draws byte-identical) | 749–751 | 2026-08-30/31-era (lap receipts; lane-B §§ per H7/H8) | first-live + the receipt's own honest_limits falsifying its headline memory figure — the apparatus disciplining its own triumph |

**The join thesis (whitepaper-load-bearing):** the hoist crux transferred from the Architect's hands to the offices' own — proven at t535 (first fire) and made a FORM at t643/t650 (below). "The pieces could not yet cross themselves" is historical, not current.

## 2 · THE DAG & THE WAVES OF AGENTS

| Marker | Landmark | Tic(s) | Real-world time (source) | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **BND-05** | **t643 — SEVEN opus office-citizens fired simultaneously**, one per cable, disjoint write surfaces, admitted∩exec_ready an EXACT 7/7 intersection — and 7 exec-ready identities WITHOUT admitted covenants deliberately EXCLUDED (coherence-is-not-admission enforced as a set operation) | 643→644 | 2026-08-15-era (wave receipts; lane-B §2.7) | the largest simultaneous governed raise; ratified 7/7 next tic |
| **BND-06** | **t650 — the whole S1–S7 covenant chain raised inside one tic** (engine_run_id 3f8bf768…): plan → simulate (0 live side effects) → fire; 7 work cables dispatched, 3 invariants asserted, cradle_stable, and **6 null-covenant identities NAMED as residue rather than silently dropped** | 650 | 2026-08-16-era (engine run receipt; lane-B §2.8) | the DAG-of-DAGs seed fire — loop-closure speed with the exclusions enumerated by name |
| **BND-07** | **The t512 "BOOM" seed raise** — 6 of 6 raisable cables receipted inside one cradle window; ledger prose: "Membrane held by ALL citizens … Center never struck"; verified 7/7 at t559 (`center_struck=false`, `mutation_authority=false` on all seven, corpus 159,382) | 512, 559 | verified_at 2026-07-03T04:04:01Z (ledger field); t512 wall-clock ABSENT/UNVERIFIED (named, not filled) | the first full-cradle raise and its later independent verification |
| **BND-08** | **The board live-compiler arc** (t621–623) closing **the vacuous-green scar**: a false doctrine claim ("engine-reads-board wired") survived **~119 tics** (t502→t621) behind two mutually-concealing defects; found by the first real EATER; cured fail-closed (missing state = visibly non-executable, never a default), with the exec_ready fail-OPEN Rust defect closed at csl 37449ea and the two-domain hash law laid | 502→621→623 | 2026-08-11/12-era (directive + addenda; lane-B §4) | the longest-lived concealment in the record and its structural cure — five orthogonal status axes exist BECAUSE of this scar |

## 3 · GUNSLINGER ↔ HIDALGO — the two detents of one winch

| Marker | Landmark | Tic(s) | Real-world time (source) | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **BND-09** | **The typed dial itself**: `WinchMode` enum, `from_hoist_mode: seed→GUNSLINGER, staged→HIDALGO, ValueError otherwise` — one instrument, two detents, OT-scarred lineage with the vendor name stripped at the identifier level (`ot_sha256_16 ffc573101905cc4b` scarred twice; the HIDALGO smoke's 4th arm TESTS that a receipt leaking the excluded name lands D_REJECTED) | 568 | 2026-07-05 (winch_modes.py git; lane-A §B2) | doctrine→code fidelity: a design sentence became an enum, a residue metric, and a membrane test |
| **BND-10** | **HIDALGO's only live classification in the whole ledger**: `hidalgo:A=1:B=6:C=0:D=0` — a `clean()` residue at t575; SUCCESS measured by RESIDUE SHAPE, not tranche count, exactly as chartered | 575 | ledger line 113 (lane-A §B3.2) | rarity as evidence: the throttle exists, was exercised once, and read clean |
| **BND-11** | **The economy runs GUNSLINGER on the money, every tic**: 202 per-tic artifacts (568–770, one gap at 602), 119,103 telemetry lines, ~199,000 simulated generations — every tic `mode: gunslinger`, `phase: SimOnly`, `anchor_frozen_center_excluded: true` at every boundary; SWARM→CADENCE→PRICING raised all-at-once under the SAME winch primitives the model hoist uses | 568→770 | 2026-07-05 → 2026-09-04 (economy-tic files; lane-B §3) | the longest gunslinger streak in the record — center-exclusion applied to MONEY, machine-checked per tic |
| **BND-12** | **The t568 OT collapse replay**: the real UCoin collapse reproduced in shadow — 2,400 generations to dust (final supply 9.95e-06), reserve pinned 0.2, rate at the 0.93 floor — and the previously STRUCTURALLY INVISIBLE zero-mint-at-trust-below-tau made a NAMED BREACH FLAG at generation 1 | 568 | 2026-07-05 (shadow telemetry; lane-B §3.6) | an invisible failure made visible by naming it — the design justification for every loud breach flag since |

**Sniper — adjudicated, with search evidence (lane-B §7):** "sniper" is NOT a third winch detent and NOT a mechanism family. Three referents exist in the record: a **range band of the one-weapon gunslinger figure** (t414 charter; t454 Architect correction), the Architect's name for the **Reasonably Culpable Covenant** ("plausible deniability sniper", t178 — a different lane, never field-tested), and an incidental `CHORD_SIGMA = 0.2 # Sniper preset` constant. Zero hits in publications/. The whitepaper should treat sniper as REGISTER (range/precision vocabulary of the gunslinger), not machinery.

## 4 · THE HARPOONV2 / STRIKE LANE — craft separated from strike by the gate

| Marker | Landmark | Tic(s) | Real-world time (source) | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **BND-13** | **The charter's own verb falsified by a blind arena at the founding**: "master DAG-of-DAGs" → **"metabolize, not master"** — "consensus is the camouflage of re-parenting" (recharter t416) | 414→416 | 2026-06-13 (charter docs; lane-A §B1) | the office's first act was surviving the falsification of its own name |
| **BND-14** | **The complete receipts record**: 161 cable receipts (t498→t769) + 68 drain receipts, enumerated row-for-row with git-ADD commits and UTC — plus the register-in-place index (150 files classed at generation, consumers discovered by READING CODE) | 498→770 | per-row in lane-A §B4/§B5 (the complete tables) | the strike lane's whole history is receipt-bearing, no gaps papered |
| **BND-15** | **The GUNSLINGER-BACKLOG campaign** (t757→770): B0 freeze → covenant admission → C0 "prove the gun" per checkpoint → waves 1–8. Signature find: **the lead-premise falsification streak — every wave without exception** (3/4/4/4/4/4; named a property of the FORM at wave 2; `lead_premise_falsification_streak: "n=6 waves"` carried in the wave-5 close). Fastest arc: **wave 7 staged→signed→built→closed in 58 minutes** (04:36:08Z→05:34:08Z, C0_PASS both sides). Biggest single measurement: wave 3's live replay — 68 files/59 routes, 0 verdict flips, 46 diagnoses changed, 92 silent stale pins made visible | 757→770 | 2026-09-01 → 2026-09-04 (campaign receipts; lane-A §A) | the citizens out-falsify the lead in EVERY wave — the form's design property, measured |
| **BND-16** | **The horizon quiver** (t768→770): a sibling-estate thesis ADMITTED as object (FIELD/no-cite), six-ray struck, 16-row crosswalked, re-expressed as covenant H0–H6, and BUILT — H1 (43 arms, NC 13/13, deliberately unwired), then H2∥H3∥H4 in one tic with the sharpest self-falsification in the record: **the probe named for `detached_reproduced` proved it cannot claim that rung** (no remote contact → its receipts type at `source_admitted` rank 0, ceiling enforced fail-closed) | 768→770 | 2026-09-04 (cable receipts H1–H4) | coherence-is-not-admission applied to an attractive external thesis, then the build disciplining its own name |

## 5 · CABLES, WINCHING & CURRENT→TARGET REALITY WINCHING

| Marker | Landmark | Tic(s) | Real-world time (source) | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **BND-17** | **The wave ledger**: 213 rows across 22 tics — every live winch fire in one append-only file, including **the t701 append-only provenance correction**: the pawl's FIRST true automatic fire recorded AND its attestations declared false in the same row, with a reader instruction | 512→701 | per-row (lane-A §B3; t701 wall-clock ABSENT/UNVERIFIED, named) | the record corrects itself in its own medium — append-only honesty under fire |
| **BND-18** | **The t540 marker-occlusion scar**: a telemetry marker silently suppressed a live cable's receipt; the cure was a separate `__run__` key-space; the original confession survives in the ledger's own `source` field | 540 | ledger row (wall-clock ABSENT/UNVERIFIED) | the class of failure (observer artifacts occluding the observed) and its structural cure |
| **BND-19** | **The braid-covenant BR4 packet** — the only recorded DissonanceBasin holding NAMED REAL tensions (`trust_below_tau`, `mint_halted`, `harmony:unresolved:1`) with measured `residual 0.45`; `lattice_braid.py 48/48` | 569→570 | receipt YAML (lane-A §C5) | current→target winching with the dissonance held visibly, not flattened |

## 6 · ANCHORING — the frozen center and the economics of the anchor

| Marker | Landmark | Tic(s) | Real-world time (source) | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **BND-20** | **Center-exclusion enforced three independent ways in three languages**: the compiler's `center_exclusion` GO check (Python), the winch smoke's membrane gate (Python asserts), the substrate-physics clause forbidding a painted `tensionProxy` (TypeScript) — one tic-414 Architect sentence ("the strike drains the basin while keeping the tension as compounding power") traceable unbroken to `residual_fraction = 0.15` at `winch_modes.py:293` | 414→568→now | code + charter (lane-A §B2, §D1) | doctrine→code fidelity as a measurable property — the whitepaper's strongest provenance chain |
| **BND-21** | **epoch05 "the pinky"** — meaning recovered above baseline in **41 steps / 48 seconds / one branch**, because the STRUCTURE did the load-bearing (anchor at the last whole point, forbidden region marked, gate as admission, receipt as Γ≠∅); re-receipted at six tics without ever re-firing, and it governed the real epoch15→16 decision | (epoch05 era; re-cited through t7xx) | lane-B §6 | THE COST LIVES IN THE ANCHOR, NOT THE REPAIR — the economics of a governed substrate in one number |
| **BND-22** | **The rollback gate that has never had to refuse**: `rollback_hold` fired ZERO times in 213 ledger lines; 5 armings all `ratio=1.5 verdict=passing`; the refusal path exists, is smoke-tested, and has never been needed live ("Unreachable for the reversible hoist surface; a real gate on an irreversible one") | 588→700 | ledger rows (lane-A §C2) | an honest negative the whitepaper must carry: rollback-velocity > attachment-velocity has HELD, so far, by measurement |

## 7 · DISSONANCE BASINS — the thread that ties it together

Two mechanics share the word, **deliberately distinct** (lane-A §C — the binder must never conflate them):
1. **`DissonanceBasin`** (`winch/winch_modes.py:278–330`) — the TENSION RESERVOIR: "holds tension during the cradle, drains dissonance to power. Charter §2 addendum: dissonance drains into basins; the strike drains the basin while KEEPING the tension as compounding power. A drain never collapses the tension to zero." This is the shared cradle every GUNSLINGER raise runs under — the model hoist's and the economy's alike (BND-11).
2. **`held_basin`** (cable-lattice) — a GATED NODE carried, never dropped: the mechanism by which an excluded/blocked identity stays visible in the DAG instead of vanishing (the t650 six named residues, BND-06, are its spirit at wave scale).

**Honest negatives, measured and carried (never paper over these in the whitepaper):**
- `basin_drained` has **never fired** as an event in 213 ledger lines — the one "drain" is orchestrator prose in a `cradle_stable` row's receipt_ref; the code path is guarded by `cradle_stable`, which is False by construction in live fire mode (lane-A honest-negatives).
- **No campaign wave provably ran through `WinchDial`** — the campaign borrows the tempo vocabulary lawfully but records no basin/rollback/residue event. The vocabulary is doctrine; the code-path liveness is narrower. Stated as measured absence, not defect.
- The basin's most real recorded moment is BR4 (BND-19): named tensions, measured residual — once.

**The whitepaper's honest sentence:** the basin is a LAW with one deep live exercise and a per-tic ambient presence in the economy's cradle fields; its drain event is designed, tested in smoke, and not yet fired live — exactly the "built, armed, not yet needed" class the rollback gate (BND-22) also occupies.

## 8 · TIMELINE SPINE (real-world anchors for the whitepaper's narrative arc)

| Real-world date (UTC) | Tic(s) | What moved |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-06-13 | 414–416 | Harpoonv2 office founded; its verb falsified and rechartered (BND-13) |
| ~2026-06-27 | 494–495 | The hoist covenant + wave-engine spec: waves-of-agents NAMED (BND-01) |
| 2026-07-01 | 535 | FIRST FIRE — epoch16 live-served, the capability wall overturned (BND-02) |
| 2026-07-03 | 512→559 | BOOM seed raise verified 7/7 (BND-07) |
| 2026-07-05 | 568–570 | winch_modes lands (OT-scarred, name stripped); economy goes GUNSLINGER; collapse replay; BR4 basin (BND-09/11/12/19) |
| 2026-08-11/12 | 621–623 | Board live-compiler; vacuous-green scar cured; §14 law (BND-08) |
| ~2026-08-15/16 | 643, 650 | Seven simultaneous citizens; the S-chain in one tic (BND-05/06) |
| ~2026-08-30/31 | 749–751 | THE LAP + the refusal-then-lap (BND-04) |
| 2026-09-01→04 | 757–770 | The GUNSLINGER-BACKLOG campaign, waves 1–8; the falsification streak; wave 7 in 58 minutes; the horizon quiver built whole (BND-15/16) |

## 9 · TRUTH BOUNDARIES & COMPOSITION DISCLOSURES (carry unflattened)

- **Fixture-green ≠ live-fired** everywhere the receipts make the distinction; this binder preserves every such label (H1's 43 arms; wave suites; the basin drain).
- The economy is `phase: SimOnly` — a live moving simulation, NOT live money. The epoch16 serve was PROPOSAL-ONLY. Naming a gated thing live is the misrepresentation the apparatus exists to catch.
- The t748 preparation's Q-V table wrongly records the t535 S3 receipt as non-existent — **the receipt exists on disk** (committed 2026-07-01, tic 535). Found by miner B; flagged as disagreement-as-evidence, adjudication owed at a future fence, NOT silently fixed here.
- Lane-A's tables are complete as of a named instant; five files (H2/H3/H4 receipts + wave-8 staged + C0-pre-w8) landed after enumeration and are flagged unopened in its §F.16 — H1's `consumers: "NONE at tic 769"` field is now historically bounded (its eaters were built at t770), a clean wire-up-of-a-declared-mounted-bear arc for the whitepaper.
- Two miner text interventions forced by repo hooks are disclosed IN the extracts at their sites (a quotation elision in lane-A; a hyphenation substitution in lane-B) — both documented with the gate identity and source paths, neither altering any figure.
- Narrative/publications sources are FIELD-class for governance purposes: this binder cites them as prose evidence of design intent, never as law.

## 10 · HOW TO USE THIS BINDER WHILE WRITING

1. Cite `BND-nn` markers in whitepaper drafts; resolve here → extracts → primary receipts. Never cite this binder as the primary source — it is a MAP of receipts.
2. For any figure, prefer the extract's quoted artifact field over this master's summary; on any disagreement the primary receipt rules (this file is two hops from ground truth).
3. The complete tables (161 cable receipts, 68 drains, 51 campaign files, 213 wave-ledger rows, 202 economy tics) live in the extracts — pull row-level detail there.
4. The honest negatives (§7) and truth boundaries (§9) are load-bearing content for the whitepaper, not caveats to trim.
